@MrSandmanTv It may …
@MrSandmanTv It may not be excact but very close. I have read that the technique at BUD/S you can also use your non-leading hand to stroke as well. I never did.
Those fins are …
Those fins are actually the ScubaPro Jet Fins. Rocket fins are the knock offs made by US Divers/AquaLung.
Dude- you’re like …
Dude- you’re like an underwater gazelle.
That’s the most graceful swimming I’ve ever seen.
how much of your …
how much of your kick comes from your hips down and how much of it comes from bending your knees? im having a hard time figuring out which one i should be doing, or do the instructors not really care that much?
Hi I was curious if …
Hi I was curious if this is the same thing that you have to do at Buds is the technique the same?
Dont dolphin kick …
Dont dolphin kick after the push off, its not aloud in indoc.
haha. yeah, 4k is …
haha. yeah, 4k is a long distance. i’m leave in 2 months for BMT, slotted PJ. I swim a lot in fins for practice, and do a lot of leg exercises to build up the strength. its definitely not effortless. those look like ScubaPro Rocket Fins- same as mine probably. My booties are heavy though- makes it a bit harder. Haha.
These are …
These are definitely Jet Fins, not Rocket Fins. They are NOT basically the same. They are similar, but have distinct differences that you may like/dislike. A real combat swimmer would know his equipment better. Eotech, Aimpoint, same difference, right?
These are Rocket …
These are Rocket fins, but you can use Jet fins, Turbo fins, Nitro fins…
split fins… much …
split fins… much better…
“Just do that about …
“Just do that about 80 times and thats the 4000” haha so legit he says it like its no big deal
reminds me of the …
reminds me of the Navy SEAL combat stroke
Would you recommend …
Would you recommend finning before indoc?
@bkbigfish Jet fins …
@bkbigfish Jet fins are in use now. Rockets aren’t as flexible and will provide a harder workout preparing for indoc etc.
Hey bk thanks for …
Hey bk thanks for the video, very helpful. I just had a question on what mask you use during indoc. do you have to buy your own or do they give you one? thanks a lot sir.
@bkbigfish
…
@bkbigfish
they’re jet fins. rocket fins are pointy at the end, and having much bigger venting system than jets.
Stiffler, those are …
Stiffler, those are ScubaPro Jet fins. Aqualung/US Diver Rockets fins have distinct struts down the whole fin and I prefer Rockets myself.. But both get the job done.
luv how the Combat …
luv how the Combat Side Stroke technique, the UDT trunks, the Hooyah, and everything else was borrowed from the Teams. Can you believe I saw them Hooyah the Instructors like at BUD/s? The SpecWar community doesn’t sit by breathlessly waiting for the PJs to come to rescue them. Look up 18 Delta. We all learn trauma. That’s easy. Difficult is managing care for long term, sick call, diagnostics, treating live stock, things PJs don’t do. There’s more to SpecWar Med then ATLS guidelines. Try TCCC.
@southernfriedbeans …
@southernfriedbeans yeah those are rocket fins i have a pair there great fins but there not an easy fin to push around
is this at DM?
is this at DM?
i take the past …
i take the past test next week is it hard? and for the 500m is there a certain way they want you to swim?
are you not allowed …
are you not allowed to keep your head out of the water?
BK, I was wondering …
BK, I was wondering if you could share some insight into the technique used when swimming with rocket fins, as I am sure you have had plenty of instruction. Thanks.
80 mins for 80 laps …
80 mins for 80 laps is duable.
A descent swimmer does 1’20, 1’40 Freestyle ext on 100 m (4 laps).
You have a minute for every lap, so normally you’re ok. do they get to hydrate on the go or do they keep going and do they provide good gatorade etc after the test?
Try to find a good swim coach, normally they only ask 35 à 45 dollars per month for written down exercises. Ask around @ your high school or college!
Drink 1000ml 1 hour before the test starts,and ’bout 500ml of gatorade prior
.
there is a required …
there is a required 4000m swim with fins doing this swim technique to be done in 140 min. try 1000m’s at a time no more than 35min,then work your way up 2000 then 3000 then 4000 and of course add the time each time you move up. alot of men fails this part.
good luck with much respect
oh and its’s 80 laps in a 25m pool in case you dont feel like do in the math
