Scuba Certification if I get sick on roller coasters?
I’m looking to get SCUBA certified before traveling to Australia. There is a medical questionnaire you must fill out before hand that includes asking if you get motion sickness. I don’t personally think I get it bad enough to possibly preclude me from SCUBA diving. However, I do get sick on roller coasters, and occasionally my husbands terrible stop-go driving has made me queasy. Do you think that is something that should preclude me?
It probably won’t be an issue, lots of divers have some form of motion sickness. The purpose of the medical history form is to identify conditions that you should consult a medical professional about before diving, so just because you answer ‘Yes’ to a question does not automatically disqualify you from becoming certified.

The PADI questionnaire phrases it as "frequent or severe". If you get queasy from the roller-coaster or driving, then that is the body’s natural response to the motion.
If you get physically ill and just want to stay in the fetal position for the rest of the day, then that is a severe case. If you have been truely seasick/motion sick, then the feeling lasts for the entire day.
