WILL SHARK ATTACK ME IF I WEAR SCUBA NEON YELLOW FLIPPER?

If i went to the coast of Coasa mell, cant spell it, :S. Or the Gul of Mexico or somthing? and i wore ALL black, with fins, or flippers, however its called, Neon yellow, with gre trimming? The dive shop keeper said i could switch them to a matching color grey, and black trims? what do you think? i dont want to look like my flippers are neon yellow standing out, i want to have a fun diving experiance where a shark doesnt be defensive as to "IM LUNCH" and that old sayin yum yum yellow or somthing please HELP!! :S

I think you need to pay more attention to your spelling or learn how to use your spell checker. Now on to your question. Sharks are color blind so it won’t make any difference what color you wear. You can go naked if you wish.

I scuba dive all the time! Sharks actually dont have very good eyesight. they use their lateral line to sense elitrical fields and movement underwater. so it doesnt matter what color you wear..they will still know you are there! 😉 but shark attacks arent very common! so good luck with your dive my fellow scubaer.

Actually, real world figures seem to show that going with things like pure black or black and blue have the most attacks. They’re most likely to not distinguish the wearer from prey. Going with things like yellow have a lower real world attack rate. It’s only consistently in artificial, baited testing that “yum yum” yellow holds true. And the high contrast yellow has more real world positive stories where divers find each other in low visibility because of it.
