A full British 10 year passport is required for entry into The Gambia, valid for at least 3 months after your date of arrival back in the UK.

British passport holder do not require a visa to enter the Gambia

I don’t think there are time restrictions is a pretty laid back poor place
No idea about volunteering

I spent February’s in the Senagambia hotel for many years
