I rafted in Turkey in the early 90s on the Coruh River in the Black Sea region. It was part of an international white water competition organized by a non-profit known as Project RAFT.

The Coruh was a spectacular, turquoise-colored river with numerous challenging rapids. It flows for hundreds of miles from the interior of Turkey to the Black Sea passing dozens of mountainside villages.

dress warm, as it will be cold, hence december ! istanbul is fab at any time. food is always fresh and good and tasty.

Which cities in Turkey are you planning to visit?
If ?stanbul then I can recommend these places to visit:

The Sultanahmet peninsula which is home to the old city with it’s Topkap? Palace, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, the Hippodrome, Museum of Turkish and Islamic Arts, the Archeological Musiem, Mosaic Museum, Calligraphy Museum and the Basilica Cistern. Nearby, there is the Covered Bazaar also called the Grand Bazaar (world’s first shopping mall).

The district of Beyo?lu, full of bars, cafes, restaurants, movie theaters, art galleries, bookstores, shops, clubs…it’s like a carnival place. Especially ?stiklal Street and Cihangir.

Ni?anta?? neighborhood, full of designer labels, stylish cafes, chic restaurants, trendy bars….

Ortaköy and Bebek are also charming places

make sure to visit Princes’ Islands

On the Asian shore: The most famous street on the Asian Shore is Ba?dat caddesi, a wide avenue popular with shops, cafes and restaurants. The most popular eateries here are Bistro 33, Midpoint, The House cafe and Suadiye cafe. Kanl?ca is famous for its oldest surviving wooden examples of the shore villas (yal?) of ?stanbul. First you should specify your taste of fun. Cause in Turkey there are lots of different options. Which cities you will visit? I recommend ?stanbul in Dec.

In ?stanbul you should see Beyo?lu (Taksim, ?stiklal Street, Cihangir) in the evening where you can find lots of pubs. Eat Kebap, Lahmacun, Mant? at any rate! (go to "Can?m Ci?erim" which is in Beyo?lu) For a different sightseeing experince, go to Adalar (K?nal? Island…) For a tremendous Bosphorus scene at night you can go to Reina Club (a little expensive) or Çaml?ca.

And in Sabanc? Museum there is the exhibition of Salvador Dali works till Jan09. Also for modern art visit "Istanbul Muesum of Modern Art".
