I work for a dive shop, PADI & NAUI both certify ages 10 & up. Some shops like ours will have accelerated classes that take only a week. so yes… if you have any questions about gear or more about what you’ll be doing in a class just message me.

If this is a portion of a “learn to dive” video, or as it looks like to me ” suicide the PADI way” forget it.
Go to a proper dive school & learn the safe way.

the nylon on the bc …
the nylon on the bc wont stretch after about 3-4 dives, so u dont always need to wet it
Ok, despite using …
Ok, despite using black straps and a black tank for demo, even I can see that you’ve got the tail of the webbing through the outer slot before taking up the tension on the cam (which you haven’t wetted in advance either). That’s just a recipe for a loose tank underwater. You also don’t check tank height and orientation. Basically, you can’t even put a BCD on a tank correctly and that’s before you get on to the other elements of putting the gear together. Sorry, but this is a poor demo.
very informative. …
very informative. thanks.
anyone who’s interested in diving may also find the book “Scuba Diving & Snorkeling for Dummies” useful. it explains about free diving, special breathing techniques, emergency procedures, how to avoid the bends, how to handle dive anxiety etc

Very poor …
Very poor demonstration. I would never dive with gear this guy set up.
what about testing …
what about testing if the tank is secure to the bc by lifting it. checking the regulator before conecting it. checking both regulators…… put them inside the bc until use and tell your diving buddy to double check it for you while you do his.
What about cylinder …
What about cylinder height mounting? What about making sure the BCD is correctly positioned relative to the outlet on the cylinder valve? Is that really all you need to do to check your second stage? There’s a myriad of things omitted from this video. Expert Village? Perhaps, if doing your PADI OW last summer qualifies you as an expert!
Turn the gauge …
Turn the gauge console face down and adjust the BCD height to the tank have been mentioned. Also crack the tank to dedust o-ring, visualy inspect and blow out the dust cap and 1st stage(filter), depress the purge on the second stages as you open the tank, open the tank valve all the way then quarter turn back, and last but not least fill the BCD completely and check for leaks before diving.

Ok Your Supposed to Flip The Pressure Gauge Over So That The Glass Part is Facing Down Away From Your Face. then you Slowly Turn The Air On.
