What are a few cheap/good Scuba brands?
I’m looking for some scuba diving equipment that is good(meaning that it works) and isn’t too expensive. I need booties, fins, snorkel, & mask. What is a good brand to look at? Would oceanic be a good brand? or is there something a little cheaper? Thanks
As far as mask, fins and snorkel, the following link will help you to make an educated decision on the styles, features, benefits and drawbacks of those items. If you are looking for scuba hard goods, Oceanic is an excellent choice. They are recognized worldwide so if you need anything serviced, you are bound to find a qualified retailer who can service the gear.

I know there is a 25% sale going on at the visibility unlimited site but you would have to e-mail to get the coupon code for the site
you can do that by e-mailing
info@visibilityunlimited.com and put what is the coupon code for the sale in the subject box.
Derek, you get what you pay for and in SCUBA your motivation should be safety, comfort and fit and not how much you will spend to achieve (especially the latter). Oceanic makes some really great gear. You may also want to look into ScubaPro and Mares. Go to several of your local Scuba shops to see if they are running specials or have gear discounts. You will find that different shops carry different brands and may promote one brand over another for various reasons. The best equipment may cost you 12.00 or 300.00 its all a matter of what fits!

I agree with the "you get what you pay for" answer. Stick with the big name brands. You’ll pay a little more, but they’ll last longer so you’ll save in the long run. What you can do, at least for wetsuits anyway, is get a big name brand like quiksilver or hyperflex from an online warehouse. That way you’ll get great quality stuff, but won’t be paying too much money for everything. Hope this helps!
