What would be the best choice of fins for a beginner in scuba diving?

   If your new to diving it’s a good idea to stay with a fairly small finn. Your legs can tire quickly and cramp up if you have finns that are too big. Also a good idea to finn around near the surface for a few times to strengthen your Quadraceps and avoid cramps.
   No. 1 Diving rule!! Never Never dive alone, plan your dive and dive your plan.

   The best choice of fin for a beginner is an inexpensive paddle fin that has a history of success. The two that come to mind are:

   1. Scubapro Jet Fin
   2. Mares Avanti Quattro

   These are proven designs, can be acquired cheaply, and work with a variety of kicks and conditions. These offer you the most flexibility in your diving – from recreational to technical.

   But in the unlikely event that you want another fin, you did not spend hundreds of dollars.

   If you are choosing a full foot type of fin, try the scubapro twin speeds, I have just bough a pair after try some out in a pool, They take very little effort to use. I also own some force fin pro’s which I use for diving with a dry suit.

   My advice would be to look for some split fins, there are a few different types around at different prices. It would help to know more about what you are going to use your fins for, whether snorkeling, scuba diving. In the UK or abroad.

   But if I had to give you a concrete answer no it seems scubapro twinspeeds open heel and full foot seem to be a favourite amongst the divers I know
