Which of Hawaii’s islands should my fiance and I choose to travel to?
We’re going to Hawaii on our honeymoon. We want to go for hikes, learn to surf, go scuba diving and snorkelling and swim on beaches that are crystal clear. What would be the best island for us to visit?
Any resorts you can suggest?
I personally recommend Oahu for a number of reasons:
1) it has everything all on one island, hiking, surfing for beginners, scuba/snorkeling, great beaches to choose from and so much more. There is literally something for every taste and budget!
2) if you want a resort feeling there are several on Waikiki that will treat you like royalty and make your trip well worth it. I recommend the Hilton Hawaiian Village or the Outrigger Waikiki – they both have great locations, rooms, dining, beach access, pools and amazing concierge that will help you book any tour/trip you want and have other really good info for you to use!
3) You can spend as much or as little as you like on Oahu and still do it all! If you need budgeting help or tips on which tours to go on, companies to use please email me – or check out the websites below for more info!
You can do all of these things on any of the islands. I would seriously consider going to Maui — it’s the most touristy and easiest to arrange all of the activities you desire.

My wife and I went to Oahu and Wakiki Beach was great! We took a submarine ride one day and a sunset dinner cruise that was fantastic. Everything is in walking distance or tour vehicles can transport you cheap. Hawaii is not easy to drive or navigate in. Cars are also more costly to rent there. Maui is the typical place for honeymooners so you may enjoy that if you want to be with others there with that reason. It is also more of a party island so you may take that into consideration. Oahu has more "tourist" things to do for us. We were there nine days and was not able to see half of what we wanted to. Going back next year.
