Relax at Blue Lagoon: Scuba Dive, Swim, Picnic, Primitive Camp

Hidden away in the piney woods of Huntsville, Texas lies the Blue Lagoon. It is an old rock quarry that is now a private SCUBA diving facility. Non-divers also may swim here. Picnicking and primitive camping are allowed. See: http://www.bluelagoonscuba.net/index.php

@MnMTMN Thanks for your feedback Mark & Mary. It is no longer necessary to be with a C-card holder to swim. Camping requires someone in the group to have a C-card (call ahead to confirm). I recommended that swimmers visit during the week, when the area is not crowded. Glad to know that you have C-cards. I would love to camp there and watch the sunrise /sunset … when it is not crowded. The water is so beautiful.

@Chikawaconroe The fee is $16 per day. It is no longer necessary to be a certified scuba diver to use the facility. This is a recent change in the rules….. and when the word gets out, the area will become very popular with swimmers, hikers, and picnickers. The area is so fantastic, I want to go their during the middle of the week (when few people are around) and meditate.

We often scuba dive …
We often scuba dive at Blue Lagoon on Fridays and it is indeed a pretty oasis in our neck of the woods. Note that it is a scuba park and is usually quite crowded with scuba classes on the weekends. I would suggest going during the week to enjoy the peace and tranquility depicted in the video. Policy was to require at least one C-card holder (certified scuba diver) present to camp so you may want to call first. Thanks for the beautiful video Ken.
