Diani urban centre is located in coast province in Kenya, Msambweni District 30 Kilometers south of Mombasa town. It borders Ukunda urban centre. This town has attractive destinations favoring most adventures visiting the coast. It relies on tourism activities.

The coastal region is mostly a tourist zone with large of it covered by National parks, game reserves and marine parks. It’s hot and humid all year with low rainfall.<BR>
The cold sea breeze sweeps through the land lowering the temperatures. The temperatures usually range from 22-30 degrees all year. The region has the largest tourist establishments and the best in the country. The white sandy beaches are an attraction on their own.<P>

Diani is on the coastal beaches of Kenya and has most of major hotels, lodges ,villas and cottages. This is centre has  more business activities than Ukunda town. This urban centre too has no development master plans and therefore lack quality infrastructure to support the ever growing tourism industry in the    area.

Some of the major hotels in Diani beach include, Safari Beach Hotel, Africana Sea Lodge, Alliance Hotels and Resorts, Jadini Beach Hotel. Jadini is the oldest in the region and was built as a cottage in 1937.Jacaranda Indian Ocean Beach resort is on the Northern tip of Diani beach, Leisure Golf Club with a 18 hole championship golf course.

Diani beach offers excellent recreational activities like kite surfing, scuba diving, sailing ,fishing and many more. Hotels in this area offers arranged exclusive tours to the Kaya sacred forests where various rare birds are found. Tours to the marine parks and mangrove forests can also be arranged. Other excursions include an hour’s drive to the Shiba Hills National Game reserve and Mwaluganje Elephant sanctuary.

Diani beach is accessible by road from Mombasa through Likoni Ferry service or by air landing at the nearby Ukunda Airstrip then by road to Ukunda.
