this is called reverse squeeze. this generaly can happen if u have a cold as the sinus tubes tend to clog up a little, however with practice, most people can acquire a certain amount of control over their sinus muscles and make them relax enough so air can flow back out.

I think the problem is that if you force air in to your ears as you go down when you come back up your ears might not open again and as the pressure from the water decreases (as you come up later) the air in your ears will expand and pop your eardrums. not good.

i tried that way the first time i went scuba… couldnt… a big problem with this is that if your nose is too small (lol) then it’s really hard… u only plug the tip of your nose and more than 50% of my tries fail… i havent tried swallowing yet or wiggling your jaw… ill try that next

yes this is true but also very exccesive pressure from vey deep dives can cause certains peoples ears to bleed such as arounf 100 -200 m dives
