There are no Reefs …
There are no Reefs off of North Carolina. The area from Wilmington to Cape Hatteras is the “Graveyard of the Atlantic” because of the convergence of the Labrador current and the Gulf Stream causing weather problems off the Hatteras point, as well as the free-for-all German U-boats experienced here in the early parts of WW2.

The area offshore of Wilmington is called the graveyard of the Atlantic because of the dangerous reefs. Tons of Wrecks, even some German u-boats. Also why the river is called the Cape Fear River. Wilmington is my home, though ive been away for years. I dream of returning.

Did I tell you about the dolphins here around island? Can’t remember who I told while ago. The come when I drum on pier, especially early morn and late evenings. Try it. Even in boat, drum on hull below waterline, they love it and gravitate to it. The drumming I use is from the beginning of song “Tusk” by Fleetwood Mac~ Mick Fleetwood learned it whilst in Africa from some tribe. It really works. Awesome photography, the visibility is way good. Dang, like pro.
