This instructional video demonstrates how to assemble your scuba diving regulator.
It will take you through the simple process step by step, and show you how to connect your octopus, scuba diving computer, and low pressure hose to the first stage of your dive regulator so you´re ready to dive.
When taking the port plugs off your first stage of your diving regulator, be sure to store them in a safe place in case you need them in the future.

@scubacom Thank you so much. That’s exactly what I was asking about. Great advice. Cheers and happy diving.
@TheJaminJs I’m …
@TheJaminJs I’m assuming you are referring to tighening of the HP hose. On any of your hose connections to the 1st stage the rule of thumb would be to screw it in “hand tight” and “snug” it with a wrench. Generally speaking if you turn it more than 1 “flat” on the nut head, it’s probably too tight. The idea is for it to be tight enough to not be unscrewed by hand.

Very helpful video! Thank you for posting this. Exactly what is your recommendation on how much to tighten the high pressure connection? Quarter turn past hand/finger tightness?

Fortunately the older 1st stages with the HP 3/8 thread are the exception rather than the rule now and most hp hoses will not fit these older regulators without some type of adapter.

@scareface999 not true,, the old lp hose are same size as a hp port so make sure that you dont get the wrong one in a wrong port …

The o-rings on the …
The o-rings on the end of the hoses that screw into the first stage are static. Typically, no grease is needed. It probably does not hurt to use a very light application of the appropriate grease, but is not absolutely necessary. When in doubt follow the manufacturers recommendations.
But despite my …
But despite my comment about the lubrication, Thanks it was very helpful!!!!
I’m confused. …
I’m confused. According to my owners manual for the exact 1st stage demoed here (Oceanic FDX10), a light lubrication of the threads and o-rings with Christo-Lube MCG-111 is recommended. But no mention in this video???
While true to all …
While true to all new regulators, this was not always the case. While many of the older 1st stages that used HP hoses of the same size as the LP hoses are no longer serviceable, you will still come across one from time to time. Putting your LP hose in the HP port would be dangerous.
This video also shows the proper placement of your 2nd stage and LPI hoses which use the same size fitting, and which would make setting up your gear correctly difficult with improper placement.

you can’t go wrong
a low pressure hose won’t fit into a hi-pressure one and viceversa because they’ve different size
