Mexican Vacation Hot Spots
Vacationing with your family in Mexico offers many benefits. Though many cities are associated with constant partying, there are also many activities that are designed for young children and teenagers. Many children receive discounts at many popular tourist attractions. Selecting an all-inclusive vacation package for the whole family is one of the best ways for everyone to enjoy their vacation in Mexico, without having to worry about the cost.
If you are interested in visiting Mexico with your family, you will want to examine some of the many attractions that are specifically geared towards children. These attractions and activities are ideal for making the most out of your family vacation. Below is a summary of just a few of the many attractions and resorts that you may find exciting in Mexico. For additional information, you are encouraged to contact your local travel agent or use the internet to guide you in your search.
Located on the Mayan Riviera is the Xcaret Theme Park. The Xcaret Theme Park is a wonderful attraction for those who are looking for a family resort. Located in Cancun, Mexico, the Xcaret Theme Park is a theme park that is often compared to Disney World or Disneyland. Similar to Disneyland and Disney World, you can expect to enjoy a fun filled day at Xcaret, thanks to amazing rides and attractions.
An deep underground river is a popular feature of the Xcaret Theme Park. You and your family can see plenty of beautiful tropical plants as you enjoy the river. Xcaret is also host to many wild and exotic animals. There is a butterfly pavilion, a coral reef aquarium, and you are given the chance to swim dolphins. Many children, as well as adults, will be thrilled with this theme park. In addition to the Xcaret Theme Park, Cancun offers many family friendly resorts. To find a luxury resort that offers family oriented activities you may want to check on the internet or speak with your local travel agent.
Cozumel also offers many great attractions and activities that are designed for individuals of all ages, including children. Cozumel is ideal for family vacation, especially because it has one of the lowest crime rates in Mexico, as well as the world. Cozumel is home to some of the most beautiful coral reefs. This often creates an incredible adventure and learning experience for children. If your children will enjoy scuba diving or snorkeling, then you will want to plan a trip to Cozumel.
With so many options for families, choosing a Mexican all-inclusive vacation is a great idea. The vacation package will also include items such as snacks, drinks, meals, as well as hotel accommodations and airfare. Teaching children about various cultures and customs and letting them view the Mayan ruins first hand is an amazing lesson in geography and history. While education is nice, the above mentioned locations do not completely just focus on it. There are so many fun filled activities such as snorkeling, diving, swimming, hiking, fishing, sailing, and parasailing. These activities are great for families with active children.
In addition to the above mentioned popular Mexican destinations are that are designed for the whole family, you may want to consider additional sights and attractions. Mexico has so much to offer you and your family. In fact, you and your family may wish that you could stay in longer.

What is the best Mexican summer vacation spot for young adults (besides Cancun)?
I’m looking for a Mexican party spot for young adults (20 something). I already know about Cancun and Cabo. Where are some other great spots to drink (responsibly) and have fun?
Thanks
I liked Puerto Vallarta. I don’t recommend Acapulco; it’s too big, dirty, and too much hustling; every corner some guy trying to sell you something.
Mexico City is amazing!!! If you like cities, it’s a great one.
You could also think outside the box and go to Costa Rica!
Beautiful place and very relaxed. Good beaches near Playa Tamarindo and Manuel Antonio. San Jose is fun for a couple of nights. Lots of Canadian, European and Americans visiting too.
Back to mexico…..
If you like laid back you could go to Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa.
Ixtapa is where the big hotels are, and Zihua. is a small fishing village.
You could also fly to Cancun and rent a car and go down to Playa del Carmen and Tulum (Mayan Ruins on the beach) or go to Isla Mujeres and skip Cancun.
Finally, if you want to see a great little Colonial town with an international crowd and lots of art students, try
San Miguel de Allende. It’s about 3 or 4 hrs. from Mexico City by bus or reant a car. It’s really nice and you are only an hour away from another hidden colonial town, Guanajuato, where you can go see the museum of mummies (museo de momias) and see the world’s smallest mummy. These towns aren’t near a beach bu there are hot springs with swimming pools just north of San Miguel on the road to Dolores hidalgo.

yes, i recommend puerto vallarta as well.
this is the "low season" in mexico, so you can get plenty of great deals. go beyond the hotels…look for bungalows and such. as an example…i’m renting a place for 350 USD for the whole week! some places that go for 3,000/wk you can get for 1,000 in the low season.
one thing to know is that many mexicans do their vacations at this time…so that could be really cool for you, or it could result in a more "tame" experience since it’s rare to see a mexican girl or guy on top of the bar flashing the crowd. 🙂
either way, it’s not going to be like spring break…but it’s still going to be a lot of fun.

I like a lot of the recommendations of "tompink" some very good suggestions. I also agree that Puerto Vallarta is excellent, also Mazatlan is worth checking. Non resort cities worth consideration might be Guadalajara and Guanajuato (HUGE university crowd!)
And yes, Mexico City is well worth a thought but really only if you speak at least "fair" Spanish!
My only real disagreement with our friend is Acapulco! It is nowhere near as "dirty" as it might have been 20 years ago. The water and beaches have been really cleaned up the past few years. The waterfront (tourist/party) area has always been very clean and safe! Acapulco boasts practically every level and type of accommodation at every price: from a good clean two-star room, 4 blocks from the ocean at $15 a night to the "Special Category" all-inclusive for $500 per night!
The city is FULL of every different type of "night spots" imaginable. There are many great "summer vacation spots" in Mexico, but you did ask for a MEXICAN party spot, did you not? If you want MEXICAN, then there is no greater summer vacation spot for Mexicans than ACAPULCO!
This summer there will be more MEXICAN "young adults" in Acapulco (more parties, more night clubs, more TV party specials, more Mexican bands, more hot Mexican girls, more fun) that in ALL the rest of the country combined! If you want to party with tourists, then Cancun, PV, Cabo are all fine! But if you want to party with Mexico, then there is NOWHERE on Earth like Acapulco!
